Our Leadership

Kayla Phelan is an emerging figure within the commercial construction industry. She represents J. Phelan Construction as President and Owner.

Kayla has a diverse background and education in design, graduating with a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. Coupled with her construction expertise, she is able to bridge the gap between Architect and Contractor, better servicing her clients throughout the building process.

For the past 8 years, Kayla has led sales and business development, operations and construction management for a diverse range of projects including commercial interior renovations, office fit-outs and retail vendor shops ranging from 1MM-7MM.  

Currently, Kayla’s main role is managing J. Phelan Construction’s larger projects throughout every phase of construction: overseeing design and development on-site, coordination and scheduling, cost control, and client relations.

The founder, James Phelan, has worked for more than 40 years establishing himself as a respected construction professional. He consistently provides his clients with the expertise, commitment to quality and on-time performance necessary to ensure client satisfaction. For the last 25 years, James managed the company’s growth, which has been purposely controlled to allow that each project, regardless of the scale, has the attention of the owner from start to finish.
